Positive Post Tuesday “Brian”

So this week I’m going to tell you about a guy I met the third week I moved to Portland. Brian was my boss or you could say forman at Coast Pavement Services. Him and I ran the paver together making roads, we also smashed a lot of stuff together. Those were good times.

Brian is one of those guys that can get along with just about anyone and he’s good at being social, which makes [...] Read More

Challenge

Over the last couple of months I’ve began to wonder about community. I’ve been thinking about the Church and all the people that make the body of Christ. I’ve been think about our society and our generations of today, young and old alike. What is the perception of life from an average stand point? Does the Christian Society really exist the way we perceive it? (perhaps that last line is better said, ‘the way I [...] Read More

Abstraction

Once again WordPress had gone the extra mile to set up a web platform that allows people like me to offer the common user advanced content management. What I mean is, I can more for you because they have done it for me.

I’ve been running through all types of new code and new ways of thinking. I’ve found all types of new concepts for pulling information from the WP database. In my studies i find [...] Read More

Last weekend i spent a good amount of time rummaging through boxes of old thing. (my marble collection is getting quite nice) I’ve narrowed it down to about 3 to 4 boxes, and one of them seems to be baseball card that are not mine. (i think there my brothers?)

Anyway, I found myself in awe a few time on Sunday. I was sifting through old journals and drawing pads cutting out all the drawings and [...] Read More

New Iceberg??? 15mi long?

Here in Portland were getting a fairly radical storm coming through. It’s dropping a little bit of everything. I guess it has been since 2002 that the surrounding area has had snow in March. (dont quote me on that) Im always curious about the weather and what makes it work the way it does.

I also heard about a new iceberg in Antarctica check it out. ↓

A city-sized iceberg has broken off an island [...] Read More

A little on Life

Here i sit in the kitchen, it’s a nice quiet morning. All i hear are a few birds outside, the humm of the fridge and ticking of the clock. (oh and the chattering of the keyboard) Im fortunate enough to live in a peaceful part of town and right out my window is a creek. It rained last night and there are still drops in the trees.

Isnt that nice, makes you feel all warm [...] Read More

The Call of Spring

I was just out side and I had my first thoughts of spring. I walked out to a gentle rain, tiny little drops falling to the pavement. That smell of moisture hitting the ground triggers so many memories. Childhood, Baseball, running out to center field and the list goes on.

I just love that smell of a light rain hitting the ground, it smells like dirt. I know thats kinda weird, but when i was young [...] Read More

A Glimpse of Mortality

I was riding in the work truck today, Jim and I were heading back to the shop. We took the 405 through the downtown sections of Portland. I was staring off into the distance when i noticed this guy sitting below an overpass. He was just relaxing on his piece of cardboard with his eyes shut leaning up again the wall. He wasn’t smiling, he wasn’t frowning, he was just sitting there.

In that spit second, [...] Read More
