Web Wednesday :: Captain FTP

Web Wednesday

CFtp60.pngIt’s been a little while since I’ve done a Web Wednesday, but I received an email this morning from the Support team of the FTP Application, Captain FTP. About a month ago I submitted a ticket about their app and possible bug. Nothing to be concerned about, but I thought I’d drop them a line anyway.

They sent me a message saying, “Can you please let me know if this is still a problem in the new version.” They also put in a link to the latest Version. This is an example of Great PR, and because of it I’ll probably continue to support them. not to mention I’ve come to like their app!

So this is my Recommended FTP Application, Captain FTP. Don’t let the name fool you it’s a great app. And, for all you people out there who just need to upload or download some files this will suit your needs with out confusing you.

ecto Publishing

Web Wednesday

This is ecto which is a desktop publishing app for the mac which I think you’ll like to check out if you’re into having more control over you blog publishing. (not to mention the fact that if you’re like me you can’t stand having a publisher that tells you how to write your html)

I pretty sure I saw the copywrite say 2003-2009 so I get the feeling this one has been around for a while. The company that developed this App (illumineX.com) also has iBlogger.

This is my first post so I really can’t give you a fair comparison on what I think, but I’ll let you know. I’ve been using MarsEdit which is a great app and has some amazing features. No custom fields though, which I’ve been wanting to have for many reasons.

Do you use a Desktop App for publishing your Posts? OR are you old-school diehard “gotta use my browser!”

Almost forgot, for all of you WordPress peeps out there that dislike the WP Post Editor this app is for you!

Some Well Known Blogging Resources

Web Wednesday

This evening I had a chance to meet up with a bunch of great people who are here in Franklin, TN for a Conference call recreate. We had a great time and it turns out most of them are bloggers. It made me want to meet more people that read or see twittering, so I thought I would share a few common resources for bloggers.

Here are a few well known resources that you should check out if you’ve never heard of them. A little some thing to wet your whistle on Wednesday.

WordCamp is a little something special for all you WordPress fanatics that wish there was a way to meet people who love the blogosphere as much as you do. I’ve still yet to go, and I’m sad about that. All the same it’s worth 5min to look at.

Here is a something that I think the couch potatoes out their would enjoy. well the Blogging couch potatoes… They call it “Your Visual Resource for All Things WordPress“. There’s plenty to see and plenty to learn, so dig in, grab a bag of fritos and start watching.
