What is there to do in Spring Hill on a Sunday night around 9:47pm… Nothing, so why not take a ride to Franklin and drive through downtown like a bat out of hell…
I was sitting down at the Exxon in Spring Hill board and drinking a soda thinking about how little I’ve actually driven around. That’s when it struck me, “there are probably less cars on the road on a Sunday night than any other night of the week.” I sat there for about 5min debating and then I just decided the heck with it…
Turns out it only takes 20-25min to get to Franklin going down hwy31. I had to pull over a couple of times to let some cars go by, but all in all it was a good ride. I got into Franklin and decided that I was just going to cruse for a while, the best part was the round-about. I think I went around it about 5 times in a row. Honestly I was kinda scared because I was trying to push it on the speed, and I just don’t think the scoot is made to corner.
Maybe next weekend I’ll try and get to Nashville. I need to find my limits because my brother and his wife are expecting their baby late august, and I’m starting to think I might be able to ride there. They live in Massachusetts. There is no way I could do it right now, but with a little training I might be able to pull it off.
Where Should I go next Sunday? (keep it inside the nashville area)
Day 1 = 12.8 mi – 20-25min (Spring Hill -> Franklin)

Man, this post brings back great memories of my little scooter. I remember pushing it to it’s limits around town. Up hills were always difficult and riding as close to the shoulder as possible so that cars would pass… ahhh… the memories. Thanks for letting me have a good moment of remembering. I’m not sure where you live exactly, but ride that thing to Fido and sip some coffee at the tables outside.
Ah yes, Spring Hill is not that exciting. Everything closes so stinkin’ early around there!
I echo Biscuet on this one, though. Fido and the whole Hillsboro Village area by Belmont and Vandy is pretty rad. I recommend Fido (or Bongo Java), Pancake Pantry, San Antonio Taco Company (aka SATCO) and Centennial Park. I spent a lot of time in those parts when I lived in Nashvegas. The Exit/In always has bands playing, too (I never went to it, unfortunately).
And that roundabout in Franklin is AMAZING! Some friends and I sat in the grass at the center one night and shot the breeze. And I’m not sure if it’s still open, but the cinema on Main Street was kinda cool/grimy. The Factory is a kinda cool place to wander around, if you’re out that way, too.
